Citizens of the year
Mosman’s Citizen of the Year and Young Citizen of the Year have been announced at Mosman’s Australia Day event.
Mosman Symphony Orchestra’s Musical Director Andrew Del Riccio was named Citizen of the Year, while Mosman Youth Centre volunteer Marina Viese Vivaldi was awarded Young Citizen of the Year.
Under Andrew’s 25-year leadership, the community-based Mosman Symphony Orchestra has established a strong audience.
Marina, who moved to Mosman from Brazil, is passionate about the local community and environment, volunteering with Council’s Mosman Youth groups such as Vocal Rewind and Green Thumbs as well as working on a range of youth events and activities.
The announcement followed a large citizenship ceremony welcoming 98 new citizens from 39 countries officiated by Mosman Councillor Michael Randall who was joined by Member for Warringah Zali Steggall, Mosman Councillors and Australia Day Ambassador, former NSW cricketer Kath Koschel. Council also thanks the Mosman Lions Club for their time generously donated to manage the BBQ.
