GIVIT to flood areas

Residents wishing to support families affected by flooding are being encouraged to donate money or goods and services via the not-for-profit charity platform GIVIT.
The platform enables councils, outreach teams, local charities and community groups in flood-affected areas to communicate what is needed in their local area and have their needs met through an online warehouse or by purchasing requested items locally using donated funds.
People are asked not to take unrequested items into storm and flood-impacted areas to ensure local charities and recovery organisations are not inundated with donations of goods they do not need.
