Pavilion upgrade
Georges Heights Oval pavilion will be upgraded with revamped change facilities, storage areas and kiosk among planned improvements for players and spectators at the popular field.
It is expected the works will increase opportunities for female and mixed team participation and support local junior and senior football clubs, the cricket club and local schools while providing environmental benefits through the conversion of lighting to LED and inclusion of additional plants around the building.
The upgrade is being funded by Mosman Council along with funds from the NSW Football Legacy Program which aims to leave a legacy from the FIFA Women’s World Cup tournament to benefit all levels of football.
Mosman Mayor Carolyn Corrigan said Council would now work with Sydney Harbour Federation Trust regarding any necessary approvals to help ensure the upgrade, which is expected to increase utilisation of Georges Heights Oval, are a great success.
