Seagrass restoration project

Environmentally minded residents can learn more about how they can help restore local seagrass meadows through joining Operation Posidonia which aims to restore Posidonia australis, a slow-growing seagrass that forms important foundation habitats around Mosman’s shorelines.

The seagrass was previously common in urbanised estuaries, such as Sydney Harbour, where it is now endangered, and the restoration aims to give nature a helping hand by restoring lost seagrass one patch at a time.
