Hunter Park Playground – Updated Plan
At its meeting on 6 December 2022, Council approved the proposed Hunter Park Playground Upgrade to progress to the procurement and build stage. As part of this approval Council considered the 30 submission received, resolving that the officers recommendations be adopted subject to:
- staff further interpreting the plan to make it less ambiguous
- the soft-fall areas be coloured green
- the revised plan be published on the website
- the revised plan be issued to Councillors by memorandum together with further information on the type of mulch, whether grass could be substituted, and consideration of additional seating
Following this resolution, Council staff have updated the Hunter Park Playground Plan to convert the proposed new mulch areas to natural turf, updated to the colour of new rubber softfall areas to the colour green and added a new bench seat to the north-western corner of the playground. The existing garden beds will be retained but incorporated into the design noting the design is to create a low impact, all-inclusive playground that sits within the existing landscape.
